The ASICS Gel-Kayano 12.1 Up There Natsukashii 'Glacier Grey' (2025) unites performance innovation with nostalgic craftsmanship, reflecting the Japanese concept of “Natsukashii” — a sentimental appreciation for the past. This collaboration between ASICS and Melbourne-based retailer Up There revisits the iconic Gel-Kayano lineage, blending archival running heritage with contemporary streetwear sensibility.
Overview
The 'Glacier Grey' colorway showcases a refined mix of breathable mesh and premium synthetic overlays, echoing the technical design of early 2000s running shoes. Subtle hues of grey and silver complement ASICS’ signature Tiger Stripes, while co-branded detailing from Up There and ASICS highlights the collaboration’s authenticity. The sneaker incorporates the brand’s renowned GEL cushioning and advanced midsole construction, ensuring comfort and stability for both athletic and casual wear. This balance of innovation and nostalgia encapsulates ASICS’ enduring commitment to functional design and timeless style.
